Options
We operate a three year Key Stage 4, whereby students choose their GCSE subjects in Year 8 via the Options process. We are confident this model increases the chances of long-term success for our students and the school. Although we are already in the top 5% of schools nationally, we are ambitious to be even greater and to ensure we consistently stay at the top of all the local education providers. With GCSE exams now including more content and being tested by end of course exams rather than coursework, achieving the highest grades has become more difficult. By giving students three years to complete their studies instead of two, we will give them the best possible preparation to do well. It will also give us the flexibility to complete some courses in Year 10, allowing students to use some of their Year 11 curriculum time to specialise, support other subjects in which they are struggling or prepare for their next steps.
