Progress 8 better than five local Outstanding schools
7th February 2020
There are six Outstanding secondary schools in the Humber region and Baysgarth achieves better results than five of them!
Following the release of the School League Tables, we are delighted to say that Baysgarth has again achieved outstanding results. With a Progress 8 score of 0.44, we placed third out of our 30 closest schools. Progress 8 is the headline measure that schools are judged upon; it is designed to measure how much progress each student has made from Year 6 to Year 11. In theory, all schools have an equal chance of getting a high Progress 8 score. The average Progress 8 score of all secondary schools nationally is 0. Schools with a Progress 8 score of below -0.5 are not achieving the minimum standard expected by the Government. A score of +0.5 of above shows that pupils in that school are making well above the expected level of progress.
