Leadership Support for Winterton Community Academy
30th January 2018
Week commencing 22nd January the Head Teacher of Winterton Community Academy stepped down from his post with immediate effect, due to personal reasons. It is a difficult period for any school to be without a Head Teacher and I am very proud that Winterton have approached us to support them at this uncertain time.
Baysgarth is determined to become a truly great school and the Ofsted report from October and the school performance tables published last week, which again put us top of all the local schools and ahead of our nearest Outstanding school for Progress 8 – the most important measure of school performance, demonstrate how far we have come over the last three years in our mission to achieve this goal. For us, part of being a truly great school is to have the capacity to support other schools when they are in need. We teach our students to be kind and to think of others and this philosophy applies in exactly the same way for us as school leaders.
Therefore, for the rest of this academic year and possibly further into the future, we will be working with Winterton to ensure that their school continues to be a good school. To enable this to happen, leaders from Baysgarth, mainly myself and my Deputy, Miss Driscoll, will be spending some of our time every week in Winterton.
Rest assured, our commitment to Baysgarth has not wavered and we will continue to ensure that our school continues to grow and develop. To this end, we will be appointing a new Assistant Head Teacher and giving opportunities for our middle and senior leaders, who we value and trust, to take on more leadership responsibilities.
We are very excited about the opportunity to work in partnership with Winterton for the good of the students of North Lincolnshire and I am sure you will support us as we enter into this new phase of our growth and development.
